Opening hours
Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00 (closed between 12:00 and 13:00 during school holidays).
The library is closed between Christmas and New Year's Day and from mid-July to late August.
Consultation and loans
Documents consultation (excluding archived collections) is free of charge once you are registered. To register you need a valid ID card and a proof of your home address.
The loan period is 3 weeks, for a maximum of 4 books.
Access
Yves-Le Gallo Library is located in Brest town centre, a 5-minute walk from the Town Hall and a 15-minute walk from the railway station.

Disabled
The library is accessible via the lift located in the entrance hall of Building C of the Faculté des Lettres et sciences humaines Victor-Segalen.
A 100-seat study hall
Located on the top floor of the Faculté des Lettres et sciences humaines in Brest town centre, the library has a 100-seat reading room, free access to 10 internet-connected workstations, two microfilm readers and a Wi-Fi access point.
Four librarians are available to answer your questions and help you in your research.
Photocopier
A self-service photocopier can be used with pre-paid cards (these can be bought from vending machines in Building B, second floor and from the University Main Library).
Old books, old postcards, old maps, dissertations, theses and archives can only be consulted on site and cannot be photocopied.
Map Library
A room dedicated to the consultation of maps is to open soon.
